Unemployed and proud!
I need a job although I don't know where I'm going to fit it in between 100+ hours of volunteering - hey I want a plaque! I know that volunteering looks good on resumes, but you know what else looks good on resumes? Actual work experience. I'm seriously considering going back to Scotiabank Theatre. Yes, I hated it, but it wasn't so bad during the summer - plus Anna says she'll go back with me. She's dying to, as a matter of fact. I would much rather have a job at a bookstore (ideal) or Starbucks or anything having nothing to do with sales. I'm just not a good pusher.

In other news Pride BBQ tomorrow! Pride week has included this past week and tomorrow is the Pride Parade. If you have never been the the Pride Parade - GO! You might think, "Hey, I'm not gay, why would pride interest me?" Answer: because it is awesome. I'm not gay, either, but I love it. The parade is not only esthetically pleasing, but the energy is so great that you can't help but get caught up in it all. Not to mention the fact that the parade represents how far gay rights have come. Fifty years ago gay men and women were afraid to come out to their best friends and closest family lest they be shunned and hated or even bashed. I'm not saying that gay rights are where they should be, but recent advances are heartening. Although rights are starting to come along, slowly but surely, the attitude of society has a long way to go. Talking about homophobia really brings out the ignorance in some people. Wow. I started off with talking about a fun BBQ I'm going to and ended up on the topic of gay rights and homophobia in society. Anyway, the point is I'm going to an undoubtedly awesome BBQ tomorrow.
