Is it weird that almost everyone from my generation irritates the crap out of me? Cause they do. They are all just perpetuating the sterotype of the lazy, air-headed, immature, apathetic teenager. Why would you want to be any of those things? Yes, I have my moments, but I would never define myself by those things. It just seems like no one can be bothered to put any effort into anything that they do. When someone comes along that does want to try thier best, they get put-down or labeled negatively. Why? What is so wrong with our society that we prize sloth and disrespectfulness? These are not the qualities that we should be congratulating each other on. We should be striving to instill a strong work ethic and some intelligence into each other. It just seems like irresponsibility and ignorance are "cool" within my age group. Those are not qualities that you should be striving for. Talented, intelligent, hard-working adolescents should not be penalized for posessing these traits. Lazy, short-sighted, unreliable adolescents should not be praised by their peers for these qualities. Instead they should be encouraged to develop positive traits. We all have the ability to apply ourselves, those of you who choose not to, it will not serve you well. You may have gotten away with it before now, but it is time to realize that we are growing up and with that comes resposibility. These people may think that they cannot exceed the level that they are at presently, but if they would only focus and try thier best they would be surprised at what they could accomplish. None of us are stupid. Infact, many of us are extremely bright & talented, but choose not to use the tools given to us. Instead some people choose to throw it all away. Its sad to see. Kids on drugs, frying thier brilliant brains. Kids failing courses when they could easily get a B or higher if they only put some effort into it. I don't understand my peers, I suppose thats why they don't understand me either. Its not a matter of smart and stupid, its a matter of hard work and laziness.
